Twitter, Schmwitter

Got this on myspace the other day:

From: nine inch nails
Date: Mar 10, 2009 12:46 PM
Subject: NIN on Twitter
Body: If you use Twitter, you can now follow NIN at http://twitter. com/nineinchnails for official news updates and other information.

All the band members also have Twitter accounts:

Trent Reznor: http://twitter. com/trent_reznor
Robin Finck: http://twitter. com/robinfincktwits
Justin Meldal-Johnsen: http://twitter. com/justinmj
Ilan Rubin: http://twitter. com/IlanRubin

And NIN’s art director Rob Sheridan is at http://twitter. com/rob_sheridan

Perhaps you know, if you have read numerous of my posts, that I perhaps like Nine Inch Nails just a little?

And, I have been on the fence as to twitter. To twitter, or not to twitter. Certainly don’t need it. But would it be fun to have an account, to use? Or would it be mere vanity and more access to time-wasters, something I definitely don’t need any help with? With a 140 character limit per tweet, would it help me hone my writing to get to the point sooner? Perhaps all of the above. But now I could follow Trent and his tweets. (Sounds like a band from the 60’s: Now featuring: Trent & The Tweets!)

Still on the fence, but Trent being there as something to look forward to may push me over the edge. I think it humorous that they included not only the band, and their individual accounts, but their art director too. Time for trivia!

Come on over the Twitter Side, Redroomsalon…

Yes, I’m on Twitter (as I’m sure is no surprise to you). I resisted at first, but now I rather enjoy it. And yes, it really does help a person become more succinct.

Having said that, here’s the truth about Twitter.
