Today’s Exercise Routine

Today’s routine was brought to me by lack of assigned parking spot and the City of LA anti-gridlock rules.

Got up pre-full light of day to move car from wrong side of street before 7 am and potential of $300 plus ticket and possible towing. Ran down three flights of stairs, briskly walked one block. Equivalent of treadmill and stairmaster.

Parked on metered side of street 1/2 block from front entrance to building, 1 block from serviceĀ entrance of building. Removed bulky box remains of shelving unit assembled at storage that could not be thrown out there, for fear of fines for using storage place’s dumpster. Walked bulky box remains to service entrance to deposit in building’s recycle bin. Equivalent of treadmill with a few arm curls with very light weights thrown in.

Removed small Ikea shelving unit that will be used in bedroom instead of a non-existent dresser. Walked it half block to front entrance, and then up three flights of stairs to unit. Equivalent of treadmill, stairmaster and 30 reps of arm curls.

Ran down three flights of stairs to walk half block to car again. Equivalent of treadmill, stairmaster.

Removed much heavier shelving unit (courtesy of Costco) for substitute pantry to be placed in my hallway adjacent to kitchen. Walked it to side of building to use elevator, so no stairs were involved, but more walking. Walked length of hallway from elevator to unit. Equivalent of treadmill and many, many reps of arm curls with much heavier weights.

Walked down three flights of stairs, 1/2 block back to car, drove block away and parked in non-metered, but to be cleaned this afternoon side of street. Walked up hill a block back to unit, up three flights of stairs. Equivalent of treadmill and stairmaster.

End of routine. Time taken: one half hour.

Good morning! Time for coffee now!
